2 years for us and 2 weeks for Landon!

This past Tuesday was our two year anniversary and the one big OBVIOUS thing I can say is MY, HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED! Although, they’ve changed so much for the better. We didn’t do anything very exciting to celebrate. We just wanted to be together with our son, the greatest gift anyone could ask for. We went on a family picnic to Shawnee Mission Park and then let Roxie play in the off-leash dog park. We always receive so many compliments on how cute Roxie is. But it’s even more fun to receive compliments from strangers about our son AND our dog. Everyone thinks Landon is so cute. We agree : )

Here’s to the best two years of my life so far. I can’t wait to see what our future holds.

I know having a child can be stressful on a marriage but our relationship has never been better. We both think that it has made us stronger as a couple. Naaman is the best Dad and seeing Landon asleep on his chest gives me the best feeling in the world. A feeling of pure contentment. I’m so in love with my Husband and now I’m so in love with my son.

I can’t believe Landon was born two weeks ago today. Time is flying by and I am trying to stay in the moment and relish this time with my newborn son. He is so small, fragile and innocent. I find myself staring at him all the time. I want him to open his eyes more because they are so big and beautiful. And although we thought they were dark brown at first it is clear now that they are a deep blue just like Mommy’s eyes. We also thought his hair was dark brown but it is actually blonde just like Mommy’s hair. How exciting it will be to see him grow and develop into a little man. I am so grateful that my son is here with us.

We had a rough first week when jaundice set in and his bilirubin levels were suddenly sky-high. His weight dropped from 6.14 to 6.2 and he kept getting more and more yellow. Finally, at our doctor’s appt. on our anniversary, we were told that he was back up to 6.15 and his bilirubin level had peaked and was leveling off. We’re so happy that the jaundice has passed.

Landon seems to be a very good baby. He never wakes us up. I have to wake him up to feed him! Although I know that will probably change once he becomes more alert. He smiles and makes the cutest sounds in his sleep. I don’t want to blink because I’m afraid I’ll miss something! Grandma and Grandpa Watts bought Landon a fun floormat and we tried it out last night. It was amazing watching him look at it. He even grabbed for the little red bird and Naaman and I were both so impressed!

The sleep deprivation is not that bad at all. In fact, I am getting more sleep now than in my last month of pregnancy, which was horrendously painful for me. And you’re talking about a woman who had her epidural wear off during the last hour and a half of pushing! I still think that the last month of pregnancy was worse because it lasted a lot longer than the time I pushed. My recovery has also been relatively easy and painless. Thank God for that!

Anyway, Naaman and I are having so much fun with Landon. He is so precious and perfect. We just can’t get enough of him.

Following are some new pictures and some videos if you’re interested!

Landon’s First Bath!

Landon playing with his Baby Einstein Play Gym for the first time!

All three of my sisters were in town (a rare occurence) to visit their nephew! He is a lucky little spoiled boy : )

Roxie meeting Landon for the first time. She is insanely jealous but has been very good about being gentle with him.

Our little long-legged man. He loves to stretch out.

Landon’s first trip to the park. Note the wrist bands. I have horrible carpel tunnel since giving birth!

Daddy and Landon on our 2-year anniversary. They are both so handsome.

Happy 30th Birthday, My Love

Tuesday was Naaman’s 30th Birthday. Happy Birthday BABY! For anyone who does not know Naaman loves the Royals. So I bought tickets to a Royal’s game for that night and even though it thunderstormed all day/night long it did not ruin our plans to have FUN. We tailgated with Kelli and Blake and our friends Ryan and Rebecca. Kelli and Blake ordered Jack Stack BBQ and a pie for dessert. Naaman has never liked birthday cake so it is tradition for him to always get a pie instead. We had great seats that just happened to be protected from the rain. I haven’t been to a ballgame in a long time but I thought it was great. I told Naaman that we could buy season tickets next year. The food that is available helps the fun factor : )

It was an exciting game that lasted 13 innings. Too bad we couldn’t have pulled off a win. It was darn close though. I also paid for a gameday greeting to be put up across the scoreboard. It was pretty cool when I told Naaman to look over there and there was the message “Happy 30th Birthday, Naaman!” He loved it and felt famous for a few seconds. I didn’t get a picture of it because it happened too fast but they send you one through the mail so I’ll post it when I get it.

Here we are on the way to the stadium. Yep, the golf cart picked us up so we didn’t have to walk because I’m pregnant and I plan on milking it for all it’s worth!

Here we are at the game all decked out in blue!

Just a sweet note to say how great he is . . . I left work on his birthday and was walking to my car when I noticed a beautiful rose placed on the handle of my car door. He often drops flowers off at my car while I’m inside working away so I get a special surprise when I leave for the day. I think it’s the sweetest gesture but I can’t believe he did that for me on HIS birthday. I mean, shouldn’t it be the other way around? Sometimes I think he must be from another planet : ) Love you, baby.

Clayton Homer Kelb: 6/14/1915 – 6/12/2008

Early yesterday morning my Grandpa passed away. In the weeks leading up to his death he was surrounded by an overwhelming amount of friends and family. He was loved and adored by everyone in our family and in his community. His funeral is tomorrow, on what would have been his 93rd birthday. Rest in peace, Gramps. Now you can finally go be with Grandma. Here are some of my favorite wedding pictures. This is one of the last family events he was able to come to and I’m so glad he did. I will treasure these photographs forever.

Laughing with Jennifer . . .

A kiss from all four of his granddaughters . . .

My Mom and her Dad . . .

Enjoying a conversation with Kelli . . .
Dancing with my Grandpa . . .
It has been a hard road especially for my Mom. But we celebrate the wonderful, long life he lived. He was born on Flag Day and always joked that everyone put the flags out for his birthday. What a fitting day tomorrow will be. All the flags will be swaying . . . for my Grandpa.

Wedding Album

Well, after almost two years of marriage we are finally going to get our wedding album. It’s been a long wait but the album proof turned out to be beautiful so I’m glad it’s on the way. I decided I’d really like to show people at my baby showers since a lot of those people attended our wedding but never saw the amazing photos. Isabel and Thet from Allure Imagery are the talented photographers that shot our wedding day and I’m so happy they did. The wait for photos and albums was way too long but what are you going to do?

Here is a link to the album proof if you’d like to check it out. It is in book style so try to imagine the layout with one page on each side.
