I had my first ultrasound yesterday morning. I was very nervous but our little bean popped up very quickly to say hello : ) We could instantly see the little heartbeat flickering and then the technician turned on the sound so we could hear it. I immediately started bawling. I cried, Naaman cried, and then we giggled like little kids. Oh man, it was just the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen and heard.
Everything looks perfect and baby Shalz is measuring four days bigger so the due date was moved up to August 15th. I do have pictures but my scanner is officially broken so it will have to wait. Sort of looks a lot like a blob anyway. Except you can see where the brain is forming, which is really cool. I can’t believe how fast they develop! I feel so blessed to have a real miracle growing inside of me! Surely a very cute miracle with such a handsome husband, I might add. Naaman said just the other night, “If it’s a little girl, I hope she has light blonde hair just like my pretty wife.” That’s right, Mr. Shalz . . . Keep the compliments coming for your very tired, very emotional and very yucky feeling wifey.
My doc was wonderfully supportive about my inability to be productive at work due to severe nausea so she gave me a prescription and so far I have been able to keep things down and get a little work done. I go in again in two weeks to get checked out again.
